Strings & Thorns

Work. Mentoring with Paul Hegstrom 'Shame to Guilt' series. Gilmore Girls viewing with Nieceamine!

Strings and Thorns. What I've been seeing my world by! It all fits into the heart. I've just been seeing the need for things to come out of the heart. Thorns hidden in us, in our hearts, are coming to the surface. We need to pull them out before we harden our hearts. If our hearts harden before they come out - we'll be in big trouble! While those thorns were hidden they were hurting us inside, but they are much more dangerous when they reach the surface. When they get there - we know that they're there. We choose to let them stay. We feel guilt and pity about their presence. Worse still, they can now affect other people. The poison that was in us is now infectious - it will become part of every thought and therefore part of every interaction we have with other people. Thats why it's so important that we let God finish what He needs to; To open what needs to be open and close what needs to be closed. Pull out what's not of God from our hearts! Loose the claws of the world! Proverbs 4:23. Strings is the other view I have. There are all types. Heart strings, word strings, God strings, bondage strings, strings of lies, but what really had me scared was the people strings. They are powerful and dangerous. They can be good or bad. They encompass all other strings, but for those that belong to God (those were like three stranded cords - they were strong and protected). It just brought to mind the importance of knowing who's speaking into your life, because if they're not for God then they shouldn't be tied to us. Pulling out thorns and cutting off strings - not in any measure easy tasks, but we're working towards God. And as Jesus said:

Matthew 19:26
"With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

Ecclesiastes 4:12
"And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart."
